First Responders Needed -

When a life threatening graded 999 call is made to the Ambulance Service and a Community First Responder is nearby, the Community First Responder is asked to respond to the emergency. The CFR will normally be at the scene of the incident within just a few minutes and is able to administer life saving aid and support to the patient. The CFR will treat the patient until the arrival of an Emergency Ambulance, at which point, patient care is handed over to the ambulance crew. In rural places such as Penkridge & its surrounding areas, Emergency Ambulances unfortunately, are not always nearby and the presence of CFR groups can, and often do, make the difference between life and death.

Can you spare a few hours a month to save lifes in your area?
Previous medical or first aid experience is an advantage, but is not essential, as extensive initial and on-going training and assessment is provided by West Midlands Ambulance Service. read more
